Coin Divers ~ Cagayan de Oro

September 22, 2008 By: micgui Category: Travel and Vacation

I always love to travel. Ever since I was a child, my mom would always take us, me and my sister, to wherever places that she knows. Summer vacation, Christmas vacation or any other type of vacation is a sure fun in the mind of a child. Sad to say, the more we get older, and get stuck with work, responsibilities, busy lifestyle etc., the more harder it is to have a good vacation. Anyway, enough of this sentimental lines :). I have here a photo of a coin divers of Cagayan. Mike just got lucky last week, went to Cagayan via Cebu for a convention. He took this photo when they arrived at Cagayan pier.

I am always amaze by these divers. I believe that one must have a really good diving-swimming skills in order to do it. Imagine how deep the water is not to mention their stamina to stay afloat over long period of time. Also some of these divers were just children. I’ve found this photo of Young Manila Coin Divers. I know that most of these divers do this for a living, that’s why I really respect what they do.

DOTA Heroes

September 19, 2008 By: micgui Category: Games

I admit that I am a certified DOTA adick. Well, what can I do? The game is just so cool. I’m not really an expert. I play, but not often. But once I get started, don’t expect to see me in a few hours haha. My sister and I are a bit confused sometimes like what were the right items for the heroes etc. But it is still fun. Not to mention playing relaxes me and it really relieves stress.

Anyway, here are favorite DOTA heroes:

Razor, Lighting Revenant. He is very easy to learn and play. He is the first hero that I’ve tried. His skills Chain Lighting and Storm Seeker makes him so good at farming. Well, more money, equals more items hehe.

Items I Often Used For Razor:

  1. Boots Of Travel
  2. Radiance
  3. Maelstrom upgrade to Mojillnor
  4. Butterfly
  5. Heart Of Tarrasque
  6. Buriza

Luna Moonfang is a bit hard at first but with the right items and strategy this hero is a sure killer. I only suggest not to use Eclipse when your target hero is surrounded by creeps for the damage of your eclipse will fall on the creeps not on the target hero. Just use Lucent Beam instead.

Items I Often Used For Luna:

  1. Boots Of Travel
  2. Helm Of Denominator upgrade to Satanic
  3. Aghanims Scepter
  4. Butterfly
  5. Lothar’s edge
  6. Buriza

Mirana Nightshade, Priestess Of The Moon. Some said that this hero has no use but Mirana’s Elune’s Arrow, with 360 damage, this hero can be godlike. Starfall is an excellent skill for farming too :)

Items I Often Used For Mirana:

  1. Boots Of Travel
  2. Sange Yasha
  3. Aghanims Scepter
  4. Radiance
  5. Assault
  6. Butterfly

I DIDN’T MEAN TO MAKE YOU MINE

September 19, 2008 By: micgui Category: Music

I DIDN’T MEAN TO MAKE YOU MINE - NINA

Don’t give me a second chance
It’ll be the same
You will be the consequence
And I will have the pain
You are something else I have
I have to survive
That is why I say
With tears in my eyes

I wish I never opened up my heart
I didn’t mean to love you baby
I wish I never let it get this far
I didn’t mean to love you baby
If I could have a single wish
I’d turn back time
I didn’t mean to make you
I didn’t mean to make you
Mine

Don’t look at me like I’m mad
I thought you would know
I was getting way too sad
It was gonna show
There was no way I could hide
I could hide the truth
So I took the risk
And fell for you

I wish I never opened up my heart
I didn’t mean to love you baby
I wish I never let it get this far
I didn’t mean to love you baby
If I could have a single wish
I’d turn back time
I didn’t mean to make you
I didn’t mean to make you
Mine

I didn’t mean to make you hold me
I didn’t mean to get so lonely
I didn’t mean to say all this to you
I didn’t mean to make you need me
I didn’t mean to love you like I do
Look at what we’ve put us through

I wish I never opened up my heart
I didn’t mean to love you baby
I wish I never let it get this far
I didn’t mean to love you baby
If I could have a single wish
I’d turn back time
I didn’t mean to make you
I didn’t mean to make you
I didn’t mean to make you
Mine..

Cool Software ~ Redirect Page Creator

September 18, 2008 By: micgui Category: Business, Computers, Internet and Technology

I have a cool software here for you from DrippingPower - it is Redirect Page Creator 1.0

This program creates stand alone webpages that gives webmasters the ability to redirect visitors to other websites. This program uses meta refresh technology to accomplish redirecting the visitor. A webmaster simply enters the destination URL then saves the code generated by this program. Finally the page is uploaded to the webmasters site and when visitors are sent to that page they will be redirected.

Cool huh? :)

Yes it is. The main usages are to protect affiliate links or easily redirect traffic. This program is designed using Java and runs on any platform that supports the Java Runtime Environment such as Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. Take note that you need to have a Java Runtime Environment for the software to run. And the most importantly, this software is absolutely free :) .

Suffering from Ankle Sprain

September 15, 2008 By: micgui Category: Health

Ankle Sprain really no fun at all.

While I was playing badminton, my ankle suddenly rolled inward while I was doing a move. Landing to the ground, the pain is so sharp that I can’t barely move. I miss the whole game because of that but of course I didn’t miss the pain, soreness and swelling of my sprained ankle. What is ankle sprain anyway?

Ankle Spain

When one or more of our ankle ligaments are injured, that is what we called Ankle Sprain. Ankle sprain mostly happens on the outer part of our ankle.

When we do quick moves and the position of our foot is not right, when we do a sudden twist, or even when we walk and run into uneven surface, our Ligaments are forced to move away into its position and tend to stretched, like elastic bands, to cope up. In this case the Ligaments which serves to be a connection between one bone to another produces much tension, extending to its limit. And the cause of this? over stretching of the ligaments and sometimes tearing apart. Stability of the ankle joints are loss. Ankle sprains are sometimes being mistaken as strains. Be aware that strains are injury on the muscles not ligaments.

After the fall, difficulty in walking is my number one problem. Swelling and soreness occur too not to mention the pain. I can’t move my entire ankle and my joints became stiff.

RICE for Injured Ankle

I didn’t mean rice grain for that :) What I mean is RICE:

R - Rest

I - Ice

C - Compression

E - Elevation

Those are the first aid methods you can use if you happen to sprained your ankle. You must REST your ankle by NOT walking into it. A two days rest is a must. Resting your ankle can help speed up your ligaments recovery. Your tissues will start to heal itself. But if you continue on walking, you will only give your body more hard work tearing again the newly healed tissues. A bag of ICE can be applied on the swollen part for up to two days. Just apply it for up to 15 minutes, five times a day with two hours interval on each application. Compression is useful to immobilized your ankle. You can use elastic bandage until swelling decreases. Just make sure you don’t squeeze your ankle too much or don’t put the bandage too tight. And lastly, don’t forget to elevate your ankle above your heart. The purpose of ELEVATION is for better blood circulation.

Ankle Sprain can heal from 2-16 weeks. In my case, 8 weeks are my total healing time. Those two months with an injured ankle is really boring… and painful. Every injury really needs a lot of patience and discipline to be fully healed. Some exercises are also needed to restore normal ankle movement like flexing your ankle from time to time and some stretching movements focusing on your ankle to restore flexibility. All I can say is that it is all hard work.
