angelsfishes as my pet

“Angels”… that is the name of my new pet angelfishes… After having so many pet since childhood, I really don’t want to stop having another one. I usually have a pet but this is my first time to have Angelfishes. I have some variety of Gold fishes , Black Mollies and Silver Mollies, Guppy, Koi, and Fighter Fish also known as Siamese Fighting Fish or Betta, which is my favorite.

Angelfish or Pterophyllum is type of freshwater aquarium fish originated in South Africa. Their bodies are compressed, round and elongated which is also triangular in shape allowing them to swim faster and easily hide among plants especially on a vertical surface. Additional protection for them are their natural striped pattern allowing them a perfect disguise. My types of Angelfish are Marble Angelfish, which is silver with black stripes and Silver Angelfish.

Angelfishes can be easily grown together with other fish. They are peaceful kind of fish but I will not suggest putting them together with other aggressive fish (like the Siamese Fighting Fish) because of fin nipping. Other than than Angelfish is a great pet. Feeding Angelfishes is not hard. Flakes is a perfect food for them since they can easily dissolve it. And believe me, these fish really love to eat. Just don’t overfeed them for they will still eat anything you feed them

I always enjoy watching them, swimming in a different pattern compared to others. When scared or provoked they do this fast quick movements and can hide easily.

I love my new angels :P

Elephant Killing in South Africa

February 27, 2008 By: micgui Category: Animals and Pets

News yesterday says that elephant killing is suggested again in South Africa because of the growing population of the elephants. Because of these overpopulation, a massive distraction on some farms happened. Specialists and stakeholders claim that killing the excess elephants are the only way to solve this growing problems. Elephant population has been doubled in recent years and the authorities are considering a this plan to bring back the balance in nature.
Many pro-animals groups do not agree with this treatment to the elephants and claim that they will going to do some actions about this matter.
